Key Biscayne Lions Club Peace Poster Contest Winners from St. Agnes Academy

The Key Biscayne Lions Club sponsored schools to participate in the Lions International Peace Poster Contest. Lions Clubs around the world have been sponsoring a very special art contest in schools and among youth groups. By creating Peace Posters, children everywhere have an opportunity to express their visions of a different peaceful planet, thereby inspiring the world through art, their creativity and idealism. Here are our St. Agnes winners' art representations for world peace.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

St. Agnes Miracle of Harbor Drive Thanksgiving Food Drive

Last week our students assembled hundreds of bags of food for our annual Miracle on Harbor Drive service project where we provide meals to over 600 families of migrants in the Redlands. The Redlands Christian Migrant Association (RCMA) has been the recipient of these food bags for many years!

Our partnership with Winn Dixie has been the key to making this yearly event a huge success! We thank Winn Dixie for assisting us with the logistics of this annual event.

Our 8th graders worked hard loading and unloading all day to deliver the Thanksgiving bags to the RCMA community. They accomplished their goal and ended the day with a celebratory pizza lunch at the RCMA.

Thank you to Mary Stevens for being our new Miracle Leader! It was truly a "Miracle on Harbor Drive"!

Welcome, Brother Zachary

Welcome to St. Agnes Academy Brother Zachary

We are overjoyed to welcome Brother Zachary from the Servants of the Pierce Hearts of Jesus and Mary to join our faculty at St. Agnes Academy. Brother Zachary will be teaching religion as well as assisting our Faith Formation Department.

God bless you! My name is Br. Zachary Craig, SCTJM. Currently, I am a novice Brother of the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary, Religious Brothers and Priests, founded by Mother Adela Galindo in August 2020. Many of you know our wonderful Sisters who serve in St. Agnes and in other places. I have completed my canonical year of novitiate, which means that I am in the last stage of formation and preparing to profess my first vows as a religious.

Originally, I am from Illinois, where I attended Illinois State University (ISU) studying education, and there I met the Servants who were ministering at that time at the John Paul II Newman Center. My mom is a secretary at the Catholic grade school where I went from Kindergarten to Eighth grade, and it was there that I found a desire to be a teacher, especially when I would stay to help the teachers while my mom was working. Growing up, I was an Eagle Scout, and I served in many different leadership positions within boy-scouts.

During a pilgrimage with the JP II Newman Center I felt the Lord calling me to be a Servant so I "dropped my nets" and followed His call. Since joining the Servants I have been teaching Catechesis for First Communion, serving at different summer camps, and assisting in our Vivet movement for kids, youth and young adults.

I am very grateful for this opportunity and look forward to being a part of the St. Agnes family.

Our Mission

"To walk humbly in God's presence through prayer, service and evangelization, while putting Jesus first, Others second and Yourself last" (JOY)
